Job Description

Adequate experience in a similar position.
Manage and develop a team of 8 buyers (men’s apparel, lady’s apparel, kids apparel, accessories, footwear).
Work closely with planning manager to ensure the smooth and effective running of the department.
Strong eye for fashion and strategic mind for positioning.
Have the ability to source and trend.
Build a compelling assortment of fashion that is competitive.
Maintain professional relationship with suppliers and ensure that suppliers understand the company’s strategy.
Customer and competitor awareness.
Competencies include analytical skills, communication skills, negotiation skills, Microsoft Office.
The individual should have the ability to transform the merchandise assortment and the Ideals brand.
The new recruit will be reporting to the Merchandise Director.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Matric is essential. A relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.
    At least 3 years experience in a similar role (especially in a clothing retail environment).
    Previous exposure to a Wholesale environment is advantageous.
    Must be computer literate (MS Office). With proven proficiency (intermediate) in MS Excel.
    Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
    Must have good analytical thinking skills and organizing skills.
