Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensuring all product received is packaged according to our packaging standards including an accurate count of contents.

The Manager of Quality Assurance will be expected to travel extensively to ensure quality standards are being met by vendor partners.
Continually monitor current sources to insure consistent quality. Work with current sources to correct any and all quality issues. Conduct regular visits and audits and maintain detailed records of all visits and correspondence.
Establish end of line inspection process at each manufacturing location to insure the product shipped meet the expected standard for quality and color.
Establish appropriate quality staffing levels at vendor or country level.
Maintain vendor scorecard and publish quarterly reports measuring vendor performance on quality. Communicate to Sourcing all quality issues discovered in audit process
Evaluate customer complaints related to quality. Determine root cause of complaint and set up corrective action process. Respond to all complaints received including the customer when required.

Key Skill

10 plus years of demonstrated proficiency in quality management and auditing.
Familiarity with all garment inspection methods, quality control and sampling techniques.
Knowledge of social compliance and environmental standards and how to audit and review for compliance.
Possess knowledge of garment construction and machinery utilized in the apparel industry.

Must have strong basic math skills, but also must be proficient in developing and interpreting statistical data.

Must be easily directed and extremely self sufficient as this position will require a level of independence both in time management and in judgment.
Candidate must be thorough, self-directed, have good organizational skills (time management), have a better than average sense of urgency and an above average ability to think out of the box.

Eligibility Criteria

Degree in fashion or textile, with a strong emphases on the technicalities of garment construction
10 years experience in garment manufacturing.
Min 4 years experience as a manager
Have the ability to ‘start up’ the department, to be involved in strategic planning and to be ‘hands on’ and to also carry out inspections as and when needed

Previous experience managing a small QA/QC team essential
Experienced in the inspection of garments to the agreed AQL standards
Previous experience in managing an overseas factory base preferred
Excellent computer skills and good knowledge of MS office is essential
