Job Description

The key accountabilities of the role will be:

Leading the quality assurance and quality control division for the business and managing all product categories for the business in India and Sri Lanka
Managing a team of quality control inspectors at multiple production sites and monitoring quality assurance and quality control standards on a continuous basis, ensuring all vendors comply with the Superdry supplier manual and quality requirements
Working with the factories right from the initial stages of product development and ensuring that all samples meet Superdry technical specifications
Ensuring that all technical packs are translated by the factories in the best way to achieve a smooth production process
Ensuring consistency in internal processes and standards, making sure that all testing requirements are met on a regular basis
Creating and implementing the agreed technical processes and specifications and ensuring factory compliance
Managing pre-production meetings with the factories and carrying out risk assessments and corrective actions
Working closely with the vendor base and mitigating risks, taking preventive action and resolving quality assurance / quality control issues on a regular basis
Managing inline and final inspections as per standard Superdry requirements, and following agreed reporting systems with head office on the same
Communicating regularly with UK technical managers and ensuring all quality levels were met, been involved in technical meetings and helped resolve issues
Maintaining an efficient system of keeping accurate, detailed and documented evidence of physical garments and process flow MIS
Driving supplier performance based on supplier ratings and monitoring improvements on a regular basis
Experience in washed & casual products would be highly desirable
Good understanding of fabric finishes, washes & pricing


Key Skill

  • A degree in fashion or textile, with a strong emphasis on the technicalities of garment construction & fits across multiple product categories
    Significant relevant experience in garment manufacturing, having worked with multiple product areas including jerseys & woven across vendors located at different sites geographically
    Good understanding of various testing processes on multiple products with a problem solving attitude
    Substantial experience as a manager and leading a team of quality controllers across multiple sites
    Experience of working with branded products, with strong awareness of requirements of the EU and UK market with respect to quality & testing processes
    Experienced in the inspection of garments to the agreed AQL standards
    Able to work under pressure & highly organised
    Proactive approach & able to foresee potential problems with a keen eye for detail
    An excellent planner & able to manage time & multiple activities efficiently working in a busy environment

Eligibility Criteria

  • Excellent technical knowledge of product & quality control standards, able to solve issues relating to fits, garment production & relevant processes
    Detailed knowledge of labour laws & the auditing of suppliers to ensure the company’s suppliers conform to local & international laws & standards
    Excellent computer skills and good knowledge of MS Office is essential
    Excellent communication skills & fluent in written & spoken English, able to communicate fluently with vendors & related parties in the local language
    Ability to start up the department, be involved in strategic planning, be hands on & carry out inspections as & when needed
    High ethical standards & ability to maintain the same within the team
    Ability to be involved in team members’ performance evaluation, recruitment, engaging teams in training sessions & company initiatives to enhance the confidence & drive their development
    Excellent computer skills and good knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power Point
