An average individual is estimated to spend 40 hours per week at work. This means we spend most of our day working next to our colleagues and co-workers every single day, making it extremely important to get along and be coherent to be able to function positively in an office space. 5. Do not take everything to the management. Try to resolve issues and speak with your colleagues at work first. Communicating with them directly will give way to better and healthy work relationships.

6. If you are a person who doesn't like to be talked about behind your back, and then keep yourself away from all kinds of gossip. 

7. No matter where you work, there will always be that one co-worker who is being very difficult about everything. The best way to get a hang of such situations is to pretend that your children are watching you. This will help you to stay in control and deal with the situation without having any bad blood in between.

Unlike choosing your friends, picking who to work with isn't an option. You do not have to become friends with them but being friendly and cordial can be extremely helpful for one at work.
